Meet The Doctors

.   .   .   .   .

Dr. Amy Akin

From an early age Dr. Amy was drawn to serve others.  In high school, she was mentored and inspired by the late Dr. Russell Reynolds. That love drove her to Angelo State University where she graduated in 2011 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She attended Parker University in Dallas where she attained her Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

She returned home to her roots in 2015 and began practicing at Holland Chiropratic Clinic where her love for chiropractic care blossomed into a passion for serving mamas, children, and families. After 4 years serving the Stephenville community, Dr. Amy established Cross Timbers Family Chiropractic.

Dr. Amy and her husband, Chance, are high school sweethearts that have been together since 2005. They have 2 sons, Braxton and Harrison. She enjoys spending time with her boys and traveling.

Dr. Joanna Martin

I have spent the majority of my life in North-central Washington State, where I got to enjoy growing up in the country. My younger sister and I were pretty much inseparable when we were kids and spent most of our time outside playing and getting as much animal company as we could.

Years later, after going to college to earn my Medical Lab Technician degree, I decided I was ready for a change and ended up moving to Stephenville, TX and began working at various hospitals in the area.

When I moved to Texas, becoming a chiropractor was nowhere in the picture. In fact, I hardly even knew what a chiropractor was! And, the thought of going back to school for another 4 years was not appealing to me. However, all of that changed after my little sister, who had spent about the last 8 years of her life suffering from horrible, 24/7 headaches, started seeing a chiropractor and finally started receiving relief! This was the start of a whole new path for my life. After seeing the changes chiropractic helped her achieve, I had to learn more about it. And the more I learned, the more interested I became, until finally I made the decision to go back to school to earn my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker University in Dallas.

So here I am; done with school, back in Stephenville and ready to serve the people in our community! I can’t wait to meet you and to help you and your loved ones feel the best you can!

Dr. Parker Toliver

Born and raised in Dallas, I spent my childhood playing any sport that was in season in the free time from my competitive gymnastics career. At 14 I started coaching other gymnasts and dedicated nearly a decade to the profession, turning the lowest ranking gymnasts into champions and eventually getting to coach alongside former Olympians.

I eventually decided to bring back a long-standing family tradition of serving in the Marine Corps which was one of the best decisions I have ever made although my body would disagree. My time on active duty took a toll and I thought I was going to be in pain for the rest of my life until I met a student of Chiropractic who convinced me to try a very unorthodox style of adjustment.

This technique called Blair Upper Cervical (Neck) care took those problems away and gave me hope for a healthy life again. Now, as well as full body adjustments, I offer you the same technique that changed my own family’s life.
